Fall Accounting Internship for Public Accounting, Tax and Audit Services Huber & Associates is looking for a career minded Individual as an Accounting Intern. Huber & Associates is a growing full-service CPA firm based in Central Pennsylvania. The firm has been in existence for over twenty years and has a distinguished reputation. The individual will be involved in accounting, auditing and tax functions for our clients, including:
  • Interfacing with clients
  • Planning and completing tax, audit and consulting engagements
  • Completing engagement work products including workpapers, tax returns and financial statements
  • You will be introduced to useful tools and resources that will help you grow both professionally and personally
  • Assisting in daily responsibilities of the department
  • Attending company meetings and/or trainings
  • Special projects, as required
  • Extensive use of spreadsheets - both maintenance and development (Excel).
  • Assist in monthly corporate close, including preparation of selected journal entries
  • Prepare account analysis
  • Maintain monthly support schedules
  • Participate in the procurement planning process and assist in the preparation of Requests for Proposals and Requests for Quotations.
  • Observe and participate in daily accounting practices and procedures. This includes subledger (Fixed Assets, Accounts Payable) and general ledger activities.
  • Work closely with the staff on the monthly financial closing processes inclusive of planning, executing, and reporting.
Required knowledge, skills and abilities
  • To be enrolled in an Undergraduate/Graduate degree program
  • Junior, Senior, or Graduate standing
  • 3.0 GPA or better
  • Interest in Finance/Accounting
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong computer skills in MS Office (especially Excel)
  • Enthusiasm and eagerness to learn
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
  • Strong interpersonal, organization, and time management skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment and act with a sense of urgency
  • Contribute positively to the organization, both individually and as part of a team

The firm is a growing full-service, electronic/automated CPA firm. The firm has been in existence for over twenty-nine years and is looking to expand into other locations. For this role, we are seeking a talented accountant (CPA) with public or private accounting experience and a proven ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment. We are looking for an individual to join our team who:
  • Has previous public or private experience
  • Has excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Is detail-oriented
  • Preferably is a licensed CPA
  • May have international or large regional public experience
  • Has excellent computer skills and is familiar with IT applications and systems
  • Is able to work independently with a limited amount of supervision
  • Will take initiative to establish and ambitiously expand the local presence of the firm with the backing and support of our home office
The individual will be responsible for staff supervision for accounting, auditing, and tax functions for our clients, including:
  • Interfacing with executive management and in-house counsel to develop comprehensive corporate goals
  • Planning, supervising, reviewing and completing tax, audit and consulting engagements
  • Supervising accountants and providing feedback to them and evaluating their progress
  • Completing engagement work products (individually or with other staff)
  • Developing recommendations for clients to enhance business operations or wealth accumulation
  • Experience with audit and tax activities
  • Maintaining and strengthening existing client and referral relationships
  • Developing new client contacts and relationships beneficial to the firm
  • Assisting in firm administrative functions as assigned by management
  • Overseeing and assuring compliance with continuing education for all staff
  • Recognizing opportunities to provide additional services to existing clients
  • Interacting with foreign Chartered Accountants and Company Secretaries
Required Skills A background that includes: Public or Private Accounting, Tax, Audit, Supervisor or Management experience and an interest in work in the following industries:

Compensation
  • Compensation includes base compensation (commensurate with experience) with the potential for profit sharing and commission for new business
  • Base salary is commensurate with experience
